Preventative generator maintenance

After a week of heavy use, it was
time to change the oil on our Yamaha
generator.
We already can't imagine how we'd live without her.
She comes inside at night and when we leave home, so hopefully we'll never have to find out.

Hi Mark and Anna,
Your post has got me thinking that if I had a propare powered gen-inverter that I could hook to a thermostat, I could take a 2nd house off grid totally and just turn on power when heat from the oil burner was needed.
I wonder if you ran into any propane powered ones?
And what you paid for your current unit.
Lots of fun :).
Good luck, John
