The Walden Effect: Farming, simple living, permaculture, and invention.

JoeyJoey Hess admins this wiki.

The line above is what Joey put on this page; the rest is an Anna-eye view of her big brother. :-)

Joey is Anna's technical adviser who often comes out to the farm to stay in his yurt. yurtsmall.jpg He's a household name in the Linux world and is the primary person behind Branchable, the software that runs this blog. In his non-technical time, he likes to camp, hike, play board games, and fly kites. (And he probably does lots of other things that Anna's not aware of.)

About us: Anna Hess and Mark Hamilton spent over a decade living self-sufficiently in the mountains of Virginia before moving north to start over from scratch in the foothills of Ohio. They've experimented with permaculture, no-till gardening, trailersteading, home-based microbusinesses and much more, writing about their adventures in both blogs and books.
