We've had a batch of eggs in the incubator that started peeping yesterday and of course waited till the wee hours of this morning before feeling ready enough to hatch.

Light Sussex is a new breed for us. A classic British barnyard bird that seems to be less groggy on day one than the other chicks we've hatched this year.
